Enlisted in company E on August 31, 1864, at Buchanan, for 1 year, age 28. Mustered September 5, 1864. Died March 12, 1865, at Baltimore, MD, of wounds received in action at Dabney's Mills, VA on February 22, 1865. Buried at London Park National Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.

Bellore Charles

Born in Canada, by trade a laborer. Lived in Detroit at enlistment. Enlisted in company E Twenty-fourth Infantry, on Aug. 11, 1862, at Detroit, for 3 years, age 31. Mustered Aug. 13, 1862. Entered the battle of Gettysburg as a color corporal. He was wounded in the left portion of the chest during the afternoon as the regiment occupied its second line of battle on McPherson’s Ridge. Bellore reportedly picked up the colors after Sergeant Abel Peck of Company C fell dead. Killed in action at Gettysburg, PA, July 1, 1863.

Bennett Sidney P.

Born in Michigan. Lived in Detroit at enlistment. Enlisted in company E, Twenty-fourth Infantry, on July 30, 1862, at Detroit, for 3 years, age 25. Mustered Aug. 13, 1862. Deserted Aug. 13, 1862.

Chubb Lucius W.

Born in Nankin, a farmer or boilermaker by trade. He was single; 5' 8"; blue eyes, light hair and a fair complexion Lived in Nankin or Detroit at enlistment. Enlisted in company E, Twenty-fourth Infantry, Aug. 5, 1862, at Detroit, for 3 years, age 19. Mustered Aug. 13, 1862. Transferred to company C, June 30, 1863.  Hit in the lower third of the left arm and just over the right clavicle and sternum by buckshot in action at Gettysburg, PA, July 1, 1863. He was captured.  Paroled on the field when the Confederates retreated 4 July; treated at a field hospital, and subsequently moved to Satterlee Hospital in Philadelphia; died of pyemia at 11 P.M. August 17th. His effects were picked up by his father, named Glode. Another account showed he died Sept. 9, 1863. Buried at Philadelphia, PA or in the Chubb family cemetery in Westland, MI.
